Northwestern Polytechnic provides programs, locally, for students choosing to pursue a number of post-secondary options (including university transfer of, up to two years, to other Alberta universities).

University of Alberta Entrance Awards
You are eligible for the following U of A Entrance Awards if you are entering U of A for the first time directly out of high school; entering after taking time off from high school; or, entering with less than 24 postsecondary transfer credits:
- Academic Excellence – based on Grade 11 and 12 marks with a minimum average of 80%.
- Scholastic Distinction – based on Grade 10, 11 and 12 marks with a minimum average of 95%.
- Entrance Leadership – based on outstanding leadership and Grade 11 and 12 marks with a minimum average of 80%.
- Eldon Foote Track and Field – based on excellence in track and field, Alberta residency, minimum average of 80% in Grade 12.
- Universiade ’83 – based on excellence in athletics or fine arts, minimum average of 80% in Grade 12.
- Faculty/Department Selected – variable
